What's New

The MAL has launched a study entitled “EMG modules as a novel biomarker of basal ganglia plasticity in Parkinson’s disease”. The study funded by the Michael J. Fox Foundation aims to identify specific characteristics of muscle activity that could be linked to changes within the brain that are associated with Parkinson’s disease.

Aymeric Guy

Aymeric joined us in February 2016 for his 6-month-long Master thesis. He is coming from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland where he is completing a Master’s in mechanical engineering with a specialization in biomechanics. He is part of a double degree agreement between the EPFL and Polytechnique Montreal, where he completed his Bachelor’s equivalent in 2014 with a Mention of Excellence. Aymeric is interested in neuroprosthetics development and sensorimotor restoration through robotic devices, focusing on the mechanical design and analysis as well as the kinematic assessments. In the lab, he is assisting us on the pediatric exoskeleton project, where he works on improving the mechanical design of joints and attachments, and assessing the performance of the device through patient testing.
