The MAL has launched a study entitled “EMG modules as a novel biomarker of basal ganglia plasticity in Parkinson’s disease”. The study funded by the Michael J. Fox Foundation aims to identify specific characteristics of muscle activity that could be linked to changes within the brain that are associated with Parkinson’s disease.

Brandon Philips

Brandon Phillips is currently pursuing his BS degree in mechanical engineering, perceiving graduation from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in May of 2018. His interest lies in understanding movement of the human body to increase the capabilities of modern prosthetics and orthotics. Brandon is an engineering intern within the Motion Analysis Lab, assisting in upper extremity and lower extremity data collection and analysis.
