The MAL has launched a study entitled “EMG modules as a novel biomarker of basal ganglia plasticity in Parkinson’s disease”. The study funded by the Michael J. Fox Foundation aims to identify specific characteristics of muscle activity that could be linked to changes within the brain that are associated with Parkinson’s disease.

Catherine Adans-Dester

Catherine Adans-Dester

Catherine joined us in 2012 from Belgium where she worked as a Physical Therapist at Centre Hospitalier Peltzer la Tourelle and also as an associate in a private practice.

She received her degree in Physical Therapy with honors in 2010 from the Haute Ecole de la Province de Liege Andre-Vesale.

Catherine is interested in rehabilitation technologies and assessments, as well as applying robotic devices in neurological rehabilitation. Her role in the lab is to coordinate our clinical portfolio and assisting us in carrying out research studies focused on the assessment of rehabilitation technology.

Additionally, Catherine is a PhD candidate in the Rehabilitation Sciences program at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Profession.
