The MAL has launched a study entitled “EMG modules as a novel biomarker of basal ganglia plasticity in Parkinson’s disease”. The study funded by the Michael J. Fox Foundation aims to identify specific characteristics of muscle activity that could be linked to changes within the brain that are associated with Parkinson’s disease.

Christoph Kanzler

Christoph joined us in March 2016 to create his master thesis until the end of August. He is enrolled in the Medical Engineering Master’s    program at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), Germany.

Prof. Björn Eskofier from the Digital Sports Group, Pattern Recognition Lab is the remote supervisor of Christoph.

Christoph is mainly interested in the development and application of machine learning and data mining techniques in the area of wearable devices and especially instrumented gait analysis.

Christoph is assigned to the Parkinson’s Disease project, where he will assist us in the application of machine learning algorithms.
