The MAL has launched a study entitled “EMG modules as a novel biomarker of basal ganglia plasticity in Parkinson’s disease”. The study funded by the Michael J. Fox Foundation aims to identify specific characteristics of muscle activity that could be linked to changes within the brain that are associated with Parkinson’s disease.

Noushin Golabchi

Noushin Golabchi is a research associate at the MAL.  She is responsible for various projects in the area of wearable sensor technology.  She received her PhD in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University in 2013.
Her broad research interests include biomedical signal and image processing, with a focus on the development and application of signal processing and machine learning techniques to deriving clinically-relevant information from biomedical data.
