The MAL has launched a study entitled “EMG modules as a novel biomarker of basal ganglia plasticity in Parkinson’s disease”. The study funded by the Michael J. Fox Foundation aims to identify specific characteristics of muscle activity that could be linked to changes within the brain that are associated with Parkinson’s disease.

Ryan McIntosh

Ryan received B.S. degree in Exercise Physiology and A.S. in Architectural Engineering from Plymouth State University in 2012. Before the MAL, he worked hands on in Outpatient Therapy at both of Spaulding’s Marblehead locations.  Currently, Ryan is in the role of Research Coordinator/Project Manager, taking care of the daily operations of the lab and handling all documentation for Institutional Review Board approval.
